How to choose an HVLS fan?
Many factory plants are using HVLS fans for ventilation and cooling. How to choose a safe and energy-saving one?
Usually, there are two kinds of HVLS fans in the market.
1) The first one is traditional: Gearmotor Fan with a big "ass" on the back of the fan, like this. The inside of the motor is a key part of the fan. It affects the lifetime of the whole fan. This kind of motor has been used for a very long time. Some people believe in it. However, it is cumbersome and unsuitable for plants with a height lower than 5M. And the motor needs to be maintained regularly. It needs to add lubricating oil to the motor. Usually, the power consumption is W per set.

2) The second one is the new version. We called it the PMSM(Permanent-magnet-synchronous-motor) Fan like this. It is light, small, more energy-saving(from 400W-W available), and free to maintenance, it is a relatively new motor.

Both above two kinds of HVLS fans: there are five main parts. When we choose the HVLS fans. we can consider the quality of each component:
1)Motor: Gearmotor / PMSM motor

2)Controller: Integration or Separate version. There is not too much difference between the different controllers. The technical data are mature for this kind of product.

Moreover, there are 6 strong tendons inside to strengthen the fan blades. All details are for safety and wind efficiency. (Some other factories just use normal Aluminum, which is far away from the standard of safety, that is why their price is much cheaper than professional factories)

The air produced from a HVLS fan moves towards the floor in a column that radiates in all direction, flowing horizontally until it reaches a wall or the airflow from another fan at which stage the air flow turns upwards and flows back towards the fan. This creates convection like air current that builds as the fan continues to spin. The increased air circulation effectively removes hot, humid air and replaces it with drier air. This process allows for a complete mixing of air in the atmosphere resulting in a temperature drop of 3 to 5 degrees, depending on the season.
